Refuse not collected in Joburg

There is no refuse collection in Johannesburg on Monday due to an illegal Pikitup workers' strike, the city said.

"The illegal strike is being addressed by Pikitup to ensure minimum inconvenience to residents. We apologise for any inconvenience caused to residents and motorists who are affected by the strike," spokeswoman Pansy Jali-Oyedele said in a statement.

"Pikitup will collect the waste from the 240-litre wheelie bin, as well as additional refuse bags when the refuse collection schedule commences."

It was not yet known when this would happen.
