Motorcyclist injured in Linden collision
A male motorcyclist sustained serious injuries on Friday evening, August 17, 2012 at around 6.20pm following a collision with a car in Linden.
The events leading up to the collision is unclear, but the motorbike had collided with the front side of the passenger vehicle. The male motorcyclist, believed to be aged in his 60's, was catapulted over the front end of the vehicle before landing in the road.
“When ER24 paramedics arrived at the scene they found the man in severe pain. Paramedics administered advanced life support treatment to the patient as he had sustained serious injuries to his left leg and foot in the form of various broken bones. The patient was then immobilised to spinal equipment before being transported to the Helen Joseph hospital for further care”, said Andre Visser ofER24.
None of the occupants from the passenger vehicle sustained any injuries. Local law enforcement officials attended the collision and will be investigating its cause further.
