Chinese New Year Celebrations

The Brightwater Commons, in conjunction with the Chinese Embassy in South Africa will be hosting a celebration of the Chinese New Year on Saturday 12th February 2011. The event will open at 11am. Whilst the entertainment programme will feature Lion and Dragon dancing; an acrobatics, contortion and fire act; traditional Umbrella and Fan dancing, as well as demonstrations of martial arts, cultural exhibitions will range from arts and crafts all the way to clothing. There will also be numerous food stalls specializing in different kinds of delicious Chinese cuisine. The event's highlight will be a magic show and folk dancing by the Yunnan Arts Troupe.
