Father's Day Celebration at Cresta
In celebration of Father's Day, Cresta Shopping Centre will be hosting a Motor Show from Thursday 11th to Sunday 15th June. Also taking place, in the centre's Amphitheatre, on Saturday 14th June will be a Strongman Challenge from 11am to 3pm.
From luxury passenger vehicles and stylish sports cars to 4 x 4's and light weight commercial vehicles, such will be the variety at the Father's Day Motor Show. Visitors can also inspect a selection of exotic cars, as well as some of the hottest new vehicles on the market. Exhibitors will include several of the most popular motor brands in the country. In addition to the cars on show, will be a display of super-bikes near the centre's Mug & Bean, and a small exhibition of luxury boats in the gardens
The highlight of Father's Day at Cresta Shopping Centre will be a Strongman Show to feature five of South Africa's top strongmen, who'll entertain audiences by tackling various challenges and demonstrating amazing feats of strength. These will include flipping 410kg truck tyres; lifting solid concrete balls weighing anything from 120kg to 165kg; and picking-up 130kg logs. Other activities will be a “suitcase” carry of 135kg in each hand; and a “wheelbarrow walk” where each strongman will raise the rear axle of a bakkie off the ground and push the vehicle like a wheelbarrow.
The Strongman Show will be an interactive event where audiences can meet and greet the strongmen, participate in various fun mock strongman activities in-between each challenge, and win spot prizes sponsored by various stores in the centre.
