Hit and run incident - female cyclist hit

I came across an accident yesterday on the corner of Gordon and Jonkershoek Roads, Bergbron yesterday roughly, September 18, 2011 at around 12.30pm. A female cyclist was knocked by a driver in a black BMW (so I was told) and sped off.

There were 3 cyclists 2 males and this lady. The paramedics arrived shortly after I got there and since there was nothing much I could do, I decided to go home.

I stayed roughly 20 min to a half an hour. But as I was crossing the other side of Gordon, a driver in a black BMW came up slowly, stalled, I stared at him and then he sped off. I got the number plate and not sure what to do. I thought it a little suspicious but will this be fair to report.

Please let me know and I hope that lady is ok; she was really in a bad state.
