Between Yesterday and Tomorrow tells the moving story of how a woman deals with her trauma after the tragic disappearance of her fiancé. Having stripped her shattered life of all emotion for eight years, the heroine, Marlien, is suddenly forced to deal with her denial, guilt and her promise of eternal love when her world is turned upside down by an unexpected inheritance in picturesque Castries, southern France.

As Marlien struggles to come to a decision as to what to do with the country chateau that she has inherited, not only is her deep-buried past revived by a strange little boy who speaks of her missing fiancé and a French veterinarian who is determined to fight the ghost of her past for her love, but she also finds unexpected answers to the most haunting questions of her life.

The inspiration for the backdrop of the novel comes from Pauls’ years of living in the south of France with her French husband. “The romance of the cobblestone roads, Templers’ castles, wild white Camargue horses, the gypsy music and the intoxicating culture of bull runs and summer festivals inspired in me a desire to capture the emotion of this beauty in the timelessness of a book’s pages,” says Pauls.

Before dedicating her time solely to writing, Pauls worked in South Africa in all the fields of her communication degree, including public relations, journalism, advertising and brand marketing. She currently resides in Santiago, Chile, with her husband and children. Pauls’ second novel, Between Fire and Ice, is scheduled for release in August with Mélange Books. Pauls will give a sneak preview of her second novel at the event.

Paperback copies of Between Yesterday and Tomorrow will be available for sale at the event at the special discount price of R200 per copy. For more information, reviews, or to contact the author, visit www.charmainepauls.com
