Happy Holidays Versus Cabin Fever
Kids and teens are invited to come and 'play' at Cresta Shopping Centre during the school holidays – from Friday 11th June to Sunday 11th July. A host of exciting activities will await the young, including an outdoor skating ring, water-balls, foosball tables and a play park. So, whilst adults are soaking up the festive vibe of South Africa's greatest sporting event this year, children and teens can have just as much fun.
Visiting the centre's outdoor amphitheatre, one will find a skating ring surrounded by a “forest” of pine trees adorned with fairy-lights – an awesome “winter wonderland” especially in the evenings. The rink, complete with an artificial surface to ensure a smoother glide as skaters whiz along, will open from 11am to 7pm on Mondays to Saturdays (closing between 2pm and 2:30pm daily) and from 11am to 3pm on Sundays. A nominal fee of R30, including skate hire, will ensure loads of skating fun for the entire family.
Adding to the buzz in this area, from Monday 21st June to Sunday 11th July, will be water walking balls - a delightful activity allowing people of all ages to experience the thrill of walking on water in gigantic plastic bubbles. The entertainment levels will be boosted on selected days and times by face-painting, comical antics by Zimbo the Clown, and entertainment by a circus school.
Whilst older children and teens enjoy the skating rink, and foosball tables in the centre's Spur and Barnyard Theatre Courts, younger children can enjoy the delights of a Play Park in the centre's Banking Court. This area, packed to the brim with coin operated rides and other play centres, will ensure tons of fun and laughter for little ones.
All these activities, taking place at Cresta Shopping centre, are certain to help eliminate the “boredom blues” and provide some added relief for parents during the lengthy school break.
