Dachshund Show and Fun Day
The event, to take place at The Brightwater Commons on Saturday August 14 starting at 10.30am, will feature a Breed Show where the public can see show quality Dachshund.
The public can also enter their own adorable Dachsie's into a Fun Show, which is open to Dachsie's of all shapes and sizes. One can enter on the day for a nominal fee of R20.
There will be four categories in the Fun Show - Dachsie Stars for dogs that can do tricks; the Dachsie Dash for the fastest dog on the day; Golden Oldies for dogs over the age of 7; and the Dachsie Fancy Dress for the best dressed dog.
The public can also enter the Me & My Dachsie photo competition with a book prize to be won. One can enter by mailing photos of themselves and their Dachsie's to dachsiephoto@mweb.co.za. Photos must be less than 2Mb in size. Included in the e-mail must be one's name, the name of one's dog, and one's contact details.
Entries close on Tuesday 10th August. The twelve best photos will be included in a 2011 calendar to be sold by the Miniature Dachshund Club of the Rand to raise funds for the Dachsie rescue scheme.
